I’m aware that so much of my life gets caught in the digital realm –
the doom-scrolling, the celebrity gossip, the endless rabbit holes of unsolved mysteries.
It’s so easy to lose my sense of the physical world,
and my heart slowly grows numb to the real needs, the real pains,
the real people You have placed in front of me.
As You invite me to pay attention again;
To put aside my gadgets,
To notice the places where love has grown thin
and to re-examine the relationships that have frayed,
the conversations I’ve avoided,
the forgiveness I’ve postponed.
Peace doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes through preparation.
“Prepare the way of the Lord… make His paths straight.”
The call of John the Baptist is not gentle, but a hard truth.
Lord, the peace You bring
requires honesty, repentance, and courage.
I need to let go of the lesser things so that You may reign fully in my life again.
