Today has been a slow day.
Rest,
Recover,
Receive.

In today’s Gospel,
the disciples are exhausted,
straining against the wind,
making little progress
despite their effort.

You do not urge them on.
You do not demand more strength.
You come to them
in the midst of their struggle.

And when You step into the boat,
the wind dies down.

Lord, today I notice
that You do not always meet me
in momentum or productivity,
but in stillness.
In recovery.
In rest.

Like the disciples,
I am learning that not every moment
is about rowing harder.
Some moments are about receiving
Your presence
when I have nothing left to give.

Today, I let the wind settle.
I rest in the boat.
I receive.
