In Moments Like This

God the master of time, never gives the future. He gives only the present, moment by moment.

Day 67 – Act of Faith

A young man was down in every way.
His studies were not going well.
His brother faced a serious health crisis.

He remembered that a Catholic friend
had once invited him
to the parish near his home
and shown him the Adoration Room.

The friend told him that You are present in the Blessed Sacrament,
so should he need to talk to You,
he can go to there

He found himself before You
in the Adoration Room,
crying his eyes out.

When he left,
he bumped into a schoolmate
who offered to coach him for his exams.

The next day,
his brother’s surgery was a success.
Recovery would take time,
but he would walk again.

Months later,
the young man scored distinctions
and entered the diploma course
he had always hoped for.
His brother returned to school —
healthier than before.

He has since decided
to give You his life —
past, present, and future.

Not because of the miracles.

Crying out to You in the Adoration Room was an act of faith.
It took a crisis for him to realise
he already believed in You.

He continues to visit You
ever so often.

I find myself asking —
When was the last time I spent time before You in the Blessed Sacrament?

Is the godchild-to-be
showing me
how to be a better Catholic?
