In Moments Like This

God the master of time, never gives the future. He gives only the present, moment by moment.

DAY 104 – Why “Sorry” takes Forever

Who have I hurt
that I should be apologising to?

The problem is
I cannot think of anyone.

And yet, surely
there are people
whom I have hurt.

Not always in obvious ways,
not always in things I remember—
but in words,
in tone,
in moments of impatience,
in what I failed to do.

Perhaps my pride
is in the way—
blinding me
from seeing clearly,
and from humbling myself
enough to ask.

We often find it easier
to do wrong
than to humble ourselves
and say,
“I am sorry.”
