As I look back
on the past twelve months,
I wonder
if the steps I took
and the decisions I made
have been pleasing to You.

Thanks to the patience
and support of friends,
I found myself
becoming more courageous.

This past year
has been about truth-telling
about opening up to others,
learning to trust,
and choosing vulnerability
over personal comfort.

I know I made the right decisions,
because I am ready
to let go of this year
with an innate sense of peace.

Lord,
thank You for walking
behind me,
beside me,
and ahead of me
quietly,
ever present,
guiding me.

Thank You for waiting
each time I chose
to ignore Your promptings.

You alone know
what is best for me,
yet I wrestled with You
until I realised
that nothing good
ever comes
from turning away
from You.

Now here I am,
ready to end this year
with You.
